Storm Watches are driven by a unique and creative ethos, which began in London in 1989. Storm Watches specialize in innovative watch design, great quality at an affordable price. As each design is unique, it is given protection by copyright. Only genuine Storm Watches carry the official product seal.
Our range is now coveted around the world as a statement of trend. Storm is a pioneer in the quest for individual style.
All Storm Watches conform to European Standards for Nickel safety. Storm Watches are anti-allergenic meaning anyone with a nickel allergy can safely wear our products.
Storm Watches use only high quality Japanese or Swiss movements. They are not sealed, as some other watch brands use, so they can be replaced if there is a fault.
Storm Watches may have various features such as a simple analogue time display with date or more complex features. A Storm Watch Multi model has a number of small dials on the face and displays the seconds, day and month. Other Storm multi dial watches are chronographs, with a large hand acting as a stop watch function, but also usually have a date function. Other Storm Watch models feature dual time, the Storm Technolight (torchlight), tachymetre, compass, temperature gauge, and unusual features such as flip up covers, shutters and rotating cases. Instruction leaflets are supplied for Storm Watches with features.
Storm Watches feature either flat or elevated mineral glass which is very thick and strong. Some models have sapphire glass.
The majority of Storm models are made from stainless steel. This is stronger and harder than brass, silver or gold and is hard wearing and long lasting. Storm Watches feature different finishes which are applied to the steel, to make it polished for instance, but it is not a coating that will wear off. Occasionally, however, models which are more intricate or have unusual features, may have to be made with a brass case, but any coatings used will be of sufficient quality to ensure long life. Models with brass case will be marked as such, but in most cases have solid stainless steel straps/bracelets. All Storm Watches have stainless steel casebacks.
Water Resistance
We do not recommend water resistant watches to be worn while having a shower or bath. This is to avoid contact with high pressure, temperature, excessive moisture and deterioration of the gaskets which may cause damage.
To ensure water resistance when swimming, watches need a marking of 50m water resistance. 100m means you can also safely use diving boards or similar impact water sports. 200 metres means you can go Scuba diving.
Watches without water resistant engraving on the caseback should be protected from water and excessive amounts of moisture, steam and condensation to avoid damage.
We recommend you have your Storm Watch serviced every two years or when the battery is replaced, in order to maintain the quality of the seals and the lubrication needed to ensure this. The water resistance of your Storm Watch is not permanent and will deteriorate through time. Please Note: Water resistant watches must be re-sealed when opened for servicing to maintain the water resistance.
